THE SEA OF FISH. COSTA NORTH includes large-format works in painting and engraving from the last two years where the common points that unite them are landscapes and life on the North coast of Menorca.

The series THE SEA OF FISH, was born from the personal need for anxieties to live and fly (in this case to swim). The colors are vivid, there is movement, life and natural surroundings. This spirit of resurfacing from the darkness, of finding myself in a healthy physical and spiritual environment is reborn. All daily problems are relative to what has happened and the message received gives me hope, gives me a life lesson that I express through art.

It is said that there is no evil that does not come for good, that something positive comes out of the negative and that a lesson is learned from failure or disaster. It would be like a second chance that can be applied in other fields, such as, for example, that we have time to take advantage of the sad stories of wars and catastrophes to stop the repetitive cycle of history and change things.

Only by observing ourselves from a humble perspective and becoming aware of the most primary and basic things will we be able to transform our irascibility and improve in many areas.

NORD is an artistic project in which I have been researching technically, formally and conceptually for some time, and it serves as a specific reason for me to continue delving deeper into what my creative process between painting and engraving would be. A dialogue that is sometimes very difficult to define, where ideas and emotions unite, separate and converge, just like expressing themselves intuitively.

I am moved by formal, chromatic, textual concerns without words … by emotions. Wanting to interpret something that you have experienced or felt, in something that goes from the figurative to the abstract almost without realizing it. This happens in the NATURAL LANDSCAPE, and very specifically in the STONES AND ROCKS of some places on the North coast of Menorca which I interpret in this work entitled NORTH, made using engraving and monotype techniques, on paper and on wood. Unique pieces.

Born and living for many years in Menorca, much of the roots and inspiration of my artistic work are around the sea and the coastal landscape. And I am motivated to interpret the excellence of the marine geological and landscape wealth for its preservation.
