200 MASKS. From 2012 to 2017

POST-TALAIOTIC MASKS

The artistic and ritual post-Talayotic masks are inspired by the ancient Talayotic inhabitants of Menorca. They are a free invention of what could be the Primitive Art of these islanders. The Talayotics created the villages and monuments with the large stones that they found and carved in the territory where they lived. Enric Servera creates these characters, with a primitive air, with materials found on the coast of Menorca. They are made with wood, plastic, remains of nets, ropes ... all current human waste.

These masks inspired by ancient civilizations are given the term post when using plastic materials and other waste dumped by the actions of modern man. This act of collecting waste material from the coast is, in addition to making an artistic creation (ready-made), a way to contribute to the cleaning of the coast and to denounce the problem of maritime pollution and the coastal landscape.
