MASKS at Ana Yael Gallery

The artistic and ritual masks are inspired by the ancient Talayotic inhabitants of Menorca. They are a free invention of what could be the primitive art of these islanders from more than 3000 years ago.

The Talayotic people created their villages and monuments with the large stones they found in the countryside. Enric Servera creates these characters, with a primitive air, with materials found on the coast of Menorca. They are made with wood, plastic, remains of nets, ropes... all current human waste.

These masks inspired by ancient civilizations are given the term post when using plastic materials and other waste dumped by the actions of modern man. This fact is still a way to contribute to the cleaning of the coast, recycling found material, ready-made and denouncing the problem of maritime pollution and the coastal landscape.
