Postalaiotic Masks

66 pieces on display are part of about 200 masks, totems and animal representations that under this title “Postalaiotic Masks” I have been making temporarily since 2012. The works themselves are an invention of a supposed primitive art of the ancient inhabitants of Menorca (Talaiotics) made from waste found on the coast of Menorca.
To these masks inspired by ancient civilizations, the term Post- is added, as they use plastic materials and other waste dumped by the actions of modern man. This act of collecting waste from the coast is not only a way to make an artistic creation (ready-made), but also a way to contribute to the cleaning of the coast and above all to denounce the problem of maritime pollution and the coastal landscape.
